Best midi interface windows 7




















It would seem M-Audio is trying to use this to sell more hardware. A quick check of their site shows they have beta drivers for W7. Any experience with MOTU? I have sent them an e-mail to see if they will be offering support in the future; I'll have to wait and see what their response is, but if it's anything like other requests in the past then I'm not too optimistic.

I'm actually surprised so many MIDI adapter vendors don't claim Windows 7 support for their devices; it uses basically the same driver architecture as Vista and thus should not be big challenge.

We currently do not have any specific drivers or support for Windows 7 and E-MU products at this time. Our preliminary testing is showing that our Vista drivers are working well in the final version of Windows 7.

The worrying thing is that M-audio began work on the Vista 64bit drivers almost 3 years ago!!

This effectivly makes this device a brick for me now. On the graph linked to above, they have not even started work on the drivers yet. M-audio has really dropped the ball here - how hard can it be to write some drivers??

Once I increased the delay time to ms I was able to update firmware on the axe, and it works perfectly with the editor. Infact, it is working better than the midisport did although this could very well be due to using the new version of windows. Plenty of sellers are selling similar looking items and I would bet they are all the same design. Requires no drivers, just plug and play. I have been using it for updating the Axe and for home recording.

My midisport 2x2 didn't work in Windows 7 Ultimate x64 but it looks like it installed perfectly with the Vista SP2 bit drivers under Windows 7 x We'll see how it works.
