The clips from the original that were shown before the feature were certainly impressive, but I have not yet happened across a copy of it. The main advantage that this picture has is its use of natural lighting and simple-yet-effective cinematography. Woodman's style brings out the best aspects of shot-on-video cinema, realism and intimacy. That is not to say that the camerawork is on the same level as Julien Donkey-Boy, Session 9, or any of the more advanced DV productions, but it captures the spirit of video in the same way that Islas did in Plenilunio, only more polished.
The movie touches on a few dark themes, murder, rape, suicide, but it deals with them in much the same way that they are approached in many popular Indian musicals. The dark subject matter is kept distant from the events of the movie, but still holds a grip on the story.
The main theme seems to be the importance of community. In particular, the script focuses on group sex, even to the point that the few instances of one-on-one sex come across as almost perverse. The performances are quite good for the most part. But when a successful businessman is found killed wearing an Albert Einstein mask, the two unlikely partners have a high-profile murder investigation on their hands. When a second body is found wearing yet another mask, they realize they are tracking a serial killer.
What is more, dead bodies of beautiful Eastern European models keep turning up. It's the beginning of a race against time. Gradually, Mat begins to overcome the ghosts of his past. Cape Town has a wealth of characters and cross plots that requires you to pay attention. The seemingly divergent stories all come together for an exciting finale. The characters are well drawn and detailed, right down to the background actors. Cape Town itself is a major visual draw card and I loved the quick shots around the cape that open each scene.

Around 70 firefighters were still battling the fire more than seven hours after it started in the early morning, Cape Town's Fire and Rescue Service spokesman Jermaine Carelse said. Some of them were lifted up on a crane to spray water on the blaze from above.
No injuries have been reported and Parliament itself had been closed for the holidays.
